The Bangladesh Young Column Writers Forum (BYCWF) has officially announced the new executive committee for its Rajshahi University (RU) branch for the 2026–27 session.
Md. Sobuj Ahmed, a student from the 2021–22 academic session in the Department of Political Science, has been appointed as the President, while Saima Biva, a student from the same academic session in the Department of Ceramics and Sculpture, has been elected as the General Secretary.
The announcement was confirmed in a press release issued on Wednesday, August 19, co-signed by BYCWF Central President Ruhul Amin and General Secretary Saisha Sultana Sadia.
Both leaders have a strong track record within the campus branch. Md. Sobuj Ahmed previously served as the Organizing Secretary and Office Secretary of the RU branch. Meanwhile, Saima Biva served as the Joint General Secretary during the previous term.
Sharing his vision after taking charge, newly appointed President Md. Sobuj Ahmed stated that his primary goal is to turn the Rajshahi University branch into an ideal intellectual platform for nurturing young writers’ creativity and thought leadership. He highlighted plans to organize regular workshops, seminars, and literary sessions to broaden reading and writing practices on campus.
Newly elected General Secretary Saima Biva expressed her commitment to working collaboratively to make the branch a vibrant platform for budding writers to showcase their potential. She affirmed that the new leadership will focus on streamlining organizational activities and offering necessary guidance and mentorship to emerging writers.
